Our first session will begin with an initials assessment to help customize a tutoring plan specific for your learner. Depending on that assessment, we will focus on one of two areas:
Phonics Instruction:
- A direct, systematic, multisensory approach will be used to help your learner develop the strategies and skills needed to read.
- Learners will learn to crack the reading code so when they come to a word they do not know, they can break it apart to read it.
- They will gain confidence in their reading ability because they have the skills and knowledge on how to read unknown words.

Reading Comprehension:
- We will use grade level appropriate reading passages to help learners develop reading comprehension skills.
- Learners will be taught how to find key words in questions and skim text to find the answers.
- Learners will develop skills to help with understanding of what is being asked in the question.
