This is an ongoing 1:1 Math tutoring session for Grades K-3.

Did you know that the development of critical thinking skills through problem-solving carries over into reading and
other disciplines? It is important that young learners build math skills for confidence and future success, and I want to help them develop a mathematical mindset and feel comfortable with math! 

The first session will allow me to meet your learner and see what they need to be successful. I will create future learning sessions tailored to individual needs in order to engage young learners and build confidence in math abilities. Students benefit from having more than 1 session with a tutoring teacher. 

Learners will meet one-on-one with Mrs. Burns. Learners may bring classwork or present a particular concept to work on, but it is not required. During the session, we will examine either the student-requested topic or a grade level, standards-based topic provided by Mrs. Burns.

Topics covered may include:
- counting (number identification, patterns, sequence)
- composing/decomposing numbers
- comparing
- addition and subtraction
- multiplication and division
- geometry 
- area and perimeter
- fractions
