Hello and welcome to Fundamentals of Programming! 

This class is designed so that a student can continuously take this class and progress through an enlightening programming curriculum.  We will always go at a comfortable pace with fun mini-projects to practice our new skills! 

- Data types: Strings, Integers, Floats, and Arrays
- Variables
- User input
- Dot syntax
- Various methods
- Working with collections
- Iteration and loops
- How to create a method
- Object-oriented programming
- 

Companies like Twitter, Airbnb, Bloomberg, Groupon, Shopify, YellowPages.com... and countless others use Ruby to power their applications and websites! It's a high-level, general-purpose programming language, meaning you can do just about anything you want with it. But here is the best part; it's quite similar to English! This will be the programming language used in class. 

Many students think that they have to be really good at math or science in order to be a programmer, no the case! Although being good at math has some benefits in programming, the attention to detail and procedural mindset that is attributed to people that are good at math can be learned! Programming improves our way of thinking and therefore can manifest in all types of ways in our lives.
