During this ongoing tutoring class I will provide your student with personalized high-quality math instruction to help them improve their skills in math as well as their confidence. I will work one-on-one with your child to identify their strengths and areas for growth. I will then tailor the content and activities around their needs. Tutoring sessions can be focused on fixing misconceptions, building fluency, continuing practice of new concepts or helping with homework challenges. My name is Lisa MacKay. I am a certified teacher with over 10 years of experience and I'm excited to help your child grow! I have permanent certifications in early childhood, elementary and special education, along with an extension for gifted and talent in New York State.
I specialize in learning to read using techniques based on the science of reading. I also love to support students in math by finding the techniques that work best for them.
I have taught everything from PreK to 9th with a focus on inclusive classrooms. I love working with students with disabilities and tailor sessions to helping them reach their goals.
