This class is taught in English.
1) Through participation in The Bird Group's discussions, students will create a connected community of young birders that will provide a supportive environment in which students can improve birding skills. 2) Through participation in The Bird Group's challenges, students will improve birding skills and enhance their creativity. 3) Through participation in The Bird Group's "Keep Current Challenges", students will learn about current research in Ornithology by reading both peer-reviewed publications and popular press science articles.
Heather is a published ecologist who has conducted field ecology research for more than a decade. She has done research in Costa Rica, Teton Mountain National Park, the Southern Appalachian Mountains, and in the Midwest. Her main research interests are birds and landscape ecology. Heather is also an environmental educator and naturalist with over 20 years of experience teaching students of all ages through nature centers, schools, and Girl Scouts. Heather has led bird clubs through brick and mortar schools and through Outschool for the last year.
