Student Showtime: A Musical Talent Hub
What's included
Group experience
Hi to all of my lovely students! This group is a chance to share what we've been working on. Consider this an ongoing virtual recital. Upload one line of music or upload 3 songs - doesn't matter to me! Let's share all of our hard work with learners across the world who are working to become better musicians. We will have weekly and daily challenges to inspire you to spend more time making music: Theme Week Jam: Weekly theme (e.g., Movie Soundtracks, Jazz Standards, Classical Favorites) and share videos playing pieces related to that theme. Collaborative Composition Project: A collaborative composition project where each member contributes a short musical phrase. Combine them to create a unique community composition. Technique Challenge Tuesday: Challenge members to showcase a specific technique (e.g., trills, arpeggios, pedal work) in a short video. Share tips and feedback. Musical Book Club: Choose a piece of music as the "book" for the month. Members can share their interpretations and discuss the emotional impact of the piece. Genre Swap Experiment: Pick a genre that's different from your usual style (e.g., if you usually play classical, try a pop song). Share your experience and what you learned. Expressive Emotions: Share a video where you express a specific emotion through your playing. Members can guess the emotion and discuss their interpretations. One-Minute Wonders: Challenge members to perform a short, impactful piece in under a minute. It could be a snippet from a larger piece or a standalone composition. Feedback Fridays: Members can request specific feedback on a challenging section of their piece or ask for suggestions on interpretation. Create a supportive environment for constructive feedback. Rules: 1. For my Singers: Music must be "clean". Absolutely no swear words or inappropriate music. Wondering if yours fits that description? Send me a message before you upload! 2. No negative comments. Everyone is trying their best and this group exists solely to motivate more musical growth! 3. Don't want to be on camera? No biggie! Just face the camera away from yourself while you sing or play. Feel free to place the camera face down on a table so that the audio is the most important element! 4. Do not include family members in your recordings. While your grownup or sibling can absolutely help you to record, they should not appear on camera since this is a class for learners under 18.
