Group experience
Is your student learning Spanish? Did you know that Spanish is one of the top five languages spoken in the world? Congratulations on learning a new language. But wait! what's next? This social club! In this club students will have the opportunity to put their Spanish speaking skills into practice. Practicing a second language with other learners is a great way to develop confidence in speaking the language. Not sure what to talk about? No problem! As a moderator, I will be guiding the group along the way. I will also be sharing with you my Spanish speaking life (I will be traveling to Mexico in July and I will be sharing my experience with all of you). Learners will also be encouraged to interact with each others posts to create dialogue around their entries. Through images, videos and short written texts you can learn the way in which you can use Spanish in everyday situations. All levels and learning styles are welcome. Is your learner a visual learner and only knows their colors and numbers? No problem, we will use pictures and images to talk about the colors and count the objects they see. Or maybe your learner is more advanced and prefers using words. In this case we can discuss everyday Spanish, from going shopping, to the restaurant, to the park, to school and many other subjects of interest (¿En que grado estás. Cuál es el nombre de tu mejor amiga/o?). The sky is the limit! So come join me in this fun filled club. Let’s Get Talking! En EspaÑOl! Profesora Alex

Guidelines
Welcome to our Group! We want all of our learners to feel comfortable, connected, and safe. That's why we have 3 rules we ask you to follow: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Respectful.
Be Kind - Help all learners feel welcome and included.
Learners from all over the world, with different backgrounds, races, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, religions and body types, participate in our Group. Always be nice and make others, especially new learners, know that they belong and are welcome. Teasing, name calling, or bullying anybody in our community? Nope. Not happening here
Be Safe - Keep your personal information private and never ask other learners for theirs.
Personal things are personal. We want to keep you safe on Outschool, but we also want YOU to understand how to be safe when you're meeting other learners or teachers. Keep your full name, home address, gaming or social media name, email, and school name private.
Be Respectful - Treat others how you want to be treated.
Keep language clean and information you share safe. If you wouldn't say it or share with your grandma, don't do it here. Swear words, racy videos, and violent images are not allowed. Treat Outschool like a public place, and when in doubt, keep things covered.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from California State University, Los Angeles
Hello! My name is Alejandra but you can call me Teacher Alex. I received my bachelor’s degree in Child Development in 2013 from California State University, Los Angeles. I also hold a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit from the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. I have been teaching for over 17 years in a variety of settings. I have a strong background in Child Development and can apply my combination of knowledge and experience into practice. I specialize in teaching children ages 3-12. I am a fun, energetic, creative, and passionate teacher and I want my students to enjoy learning. My goal is to make learning fun and exciting!
I will be teaching a variety of school readiness classes for our young leaners. All my classes will be carefully created to include, Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, the eight learning styles (visual, musical, verbal, physical, logical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic). Research shows that each learning style uses different parts of the brain. By involving more of the brain during learning, we remember more of what we learn. My goal is to identify the learning styles of my students and tend to each one of them. In addition to school readiness classes, I will be teaching Spanish! I am a fluent Spanish speaker. I have taught Spanish to children ages 2-12 and of all levels. My qualifications and passion for teaching makes me well suited to teach your student.
I will be offering, one-time and ongoing classes, private, camps, short and semester long courses.
I invite you to like and follow my Teacher Profile to be notified when I have new listings. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. See you in the classroom!
