What's included

Group experience

US Grade 5 - 8
The group focuses on the joy of reading and how reading fuels writing. As a moderator, I will pose questions each week that encourage members to take a closer look at the writing structure and story development in the books they're reading. Then I will respond to their contributions to continue the conversation throughout the week. Members can share their current reads and recommendations to maintain their momentum, and I will share what I'm reading as well. As they dig into the weekly questions and their reading lives, they will recognize how their favorite authors build tension, structure their plots, and develop characters and theme.
The questions encourage readers to go beyond "I liked this book" to articulate what made them like it. From there, they can apply that knowledge to their own stories.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I'm Miss K, and I teach English. My classes involve book clubs and writing. I have tutored and taught English, writing, and language for 10 years. Currently, I teach and assist English language learners at a middle school and instruct adults privately. I especially love research and books.
I aim for personal growth, and I strive to provide a warm, welcoming environment for everyone to thrive. Learning together helps us progress together.
My regular activities include reading, writing and running. I also paint my nails every Sunday evening and watch a movie while they dry.
