You're so talented!
I will be posting weekly mini-lessons or prompts to get learners thinking deeply about business topics and social skills (lessons may be videos, written lessons, a combination, or other format!) There will also be a monthly challenge - a writing assignment (which can be completed by video as well!), a scavenger hunt, or another interactive activity where learners can participate as well as receive feedback from the teacher and group members. Learners are encouraged to ask questions anytime,...
This class is taught in English.
Students will discuss and learn about a variety of business topics, social skills, brainstorming strategies, and discuss strengths and weaknesses that impact your success in business (as well as how to overcome challenges and set healthy boundaries!)
I have been teaching small business classes and working with clients 1:1 for 7 years. In real life, I ran a successful Kids Maker Market with 30-50 vendors for several years, which included mentoring young hobby makers and small business owners. I have taught thousands of students in social media marketing and other business topics. I have a 7 and 10 year old, so I try to keep safety and age appropriateness at the forefront, especially when talking about social media, which can be an unpleasant and unsafe space if not properly approached and monitored.
Welcome to our Group! We want all of our learners to feel comfortable, connected, and safe. That's why we have 3 rules we ask you to follow: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Respectful. Be Kind - Help all learners feel welcome and included. Be Safe - Keep your personal information private and never ask other learners for theirs. If you want to connect with someone outside of Outschool, your parents can connect through the Classroom page! In the group, please keep private: your full name, address, gaming or social media handles, email, and school name. Be Respectful - Swear words, racy videos, and violent images are not allowed. Any language that degrades group members or people outside the group, is hateful or homophobic or disrespectful of people's appearance or identities will not be tolerated.

We will likely talk about social media as a method for marketing a small business; I will reinforce that learners should use social media with the consent and observation of their adult. No links to social media will be posted, per Outschool's policy.
