Group experience

🦅 This group is for those who like eagles, enjoy learning about them, want to learn about different species of eagles, and would like to chat with friends!

🦅 In this group, I will post information, prompts, ideas, and challenges, however, learners will be free to post, ask questions, and share ideas as they would like. Learners can participate as much or as little as they would like, however, all members will be encouraged to be supportive of other members.

🦅 Learners will have things to do as soon as they sign in but I will add posts periodically to allow for more fun! As learners join, they will add more posts and the group will take off! My posts will be based on eagles but might include anything from facts to crafts.

🦅 My role as moderator will be supportive. I will post and be available to answer questions. I will also monitor the group daily to make sure that group rules are followed. The goal is for the learners to have fun and share their ideas. While I am a moderator and facilitator of the group, and I hope to create a fun environment for those who enjoy learning about eagles, I can not make others in the group participate.

FAQ:
▪ Why is this group so inexpensive? - I have 3 children and I know how expensive everything can be for families especially those with multiple children. I try to price everything I do with that in mind. As this class is not in the live format and does not require any grading or homework assignments, I can reduce the price.
▪Why should I choose this eagle group? - This is a fair question, there are a few on Outschool. All I can say is I do my best to bring value to everything I do. I also enjoy eagles! My family and I often watch eagle cams and we try to spot eagles when we are out and about!
▪ Is this a live class? - No, this is not a live class. Learners are free to visit the group whenever they like. This doesn't mean I will be in the group at that time, but they will be able to leave notes, comment, add their posts, and do any challenges presented.

🔴Learners who do post will be required to be appropriate and those who comment will be kind, or they will be subject to removal from the group.

Guidelines
Welcome to our Group! I want all of our learners to feel comfortable, connected, and safe. That's why I have 3 rules I ask you to follow: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Respectful. Be Kind - Help all learners feel welcome and included. Teasing, name calling, or bullying anybody in our community? Nope. Not happening here Be Safe - Keep your personal information private and never ask other learners for theirs. Keep your full name, home address, email, and school name private. Be Respectful - Treat others how you want to be treated. Keep language clean. If you wouldn't say it or share with your grandma, don't do it here. Also, please make sure to be covered up in videos and pictures... pj's are fine, but clothes are required! This is a group, not a live class. Learners are here to do things on their own schedule, some may do all the challenges, post updates on their pets, and comment on everything, while others might read everything but never comment, and some might do a bit of both... all is ok. Just be yourself and have some fun. Comment and encourage others in the group and remember the you participate, the more fun it will be for everyone! Lastly, you are more than welcome to create your own post for others to comment on, but please only start a new thread if it is one of the following... ▪ A picture of eagles ▪ A fun fact about eagles ▪ A question about eagles ▪ An eagle related challenge or idea that others can do This doesn't mean that you can chat with each other, it just means that the actual posts should stay eagle related. If you post a picture of an eagle you saw on a hike and find out that another group member likes soccer while discussing your eagle picture... awesome! You can chat in the comments about soccer, Roblox, Minecraft, or whatever you'd like (as long as it is appropriate). By doing this it will help us keep the group tidy and easy to navigate! If you have any questions, please let me know!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, my name is Bettina! I have been a teacher on Outschool since 2020 and I teach on 2 additional online platforms. I have a biology background, however, I studied US and World History for 3 years in college, as well as 2 years of Chinese.

I have always enjoyed teaching. My first teaching position, was in Moscow, Russia, teaching English as a second language. Since then, I’ve taught in various settings which include a cooperative, a preschool, and as a tutor in the areas of math, science, and English. I have taught a wide range of ages, often together, but on Outschool, many of my classes are focused on the elementary-middle school ages.

Today, in addition to online teaching, I am a homeschool mom to 3 children. I believe learning is important but should also be enjoyable. I’m definitely not a perfect teacher, but I do put my all into what I do because I believe that teaching the love of learning is very important.

In our spare time, my family and I enjoy binge watching documentaries and playing games together. We also garden and have a love of traveling. I’m an animal lover, I love to cook and bake, and I also like science fiction movies! I am currently furthering my Russian language skills, have begun learning Norwegian and Spanish, and hope to learn ASL, the guitar, and the piano... in the future.

🔵Parents please note: I have begun to take on more private individual and group classes. This means that I am teaching classes that do not appear on my schedule and also that I do not schedule my classes more than a couple times a day. However, if you are wanting a class for your student or group of students during a time that I do not have scheduled, please reach out to me. I will try to accommodate it!

Follow my page to be notified of class listings and thank you for stopping by my profile... I hope to meet you soon!
