D&D Dungeon Masters Only Puzzles, Riddles, Tricks, & Traps
Group experience
In this Outschool Group, we will explore the role of the Dungeon Master (DM) making the game of Dungeon & Dragons challenging, rewarding and fun. Our focus for this group is the design and use of riddles, puzzles, tricks and traps for the excitement and enjoyment of our players. In the collaborative group it is hoped that all will share in presenting their ideas about puzzles and traps which would enhance the already exciting modules in existence with D&D 5e. Each week I will present a...
Students will learn how to present, deliver and use the tricks of the DM trade - puzzles and traps. Students will collaborate with their fellow students in the design and improvement of puzzles and traps. Students will explore the many ways to challenge their PCs in order to make their games more exciting. Students will learn how to augment existing D&D modules and expand upon solid ideas.
Welcome to D&D Dungeon Masters Only - Puzzles, Tricks, and Traps Club! We want all of our learners to feel comfortable, connected, and safe. That's why we have 3 rules we ask you to follow: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Respectful. Be Kind - Help all learners feel welcome and included. Learners from all over the world, with different backgrounds, races, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, religions and body types, participate in our Group. Always be nice and make others, especially new learners, know that they belong and are welcome. Teasing, name calling, or bullying anybody in our community? Nope. Not happening here Be Safe - Keep your personal information private and never ask other learners for theirs. Personal things are personal. We want to keep you safe on Outschool, but we also want YOU to understand how to be safe when you're meeting other learners or teachers. Keep your full name, home address, gaming or social media name, email, and school name private. Be Respectful - Treat others how you want to be treated. Keep language clean and information you share safe. If you wouldn't say it or share with your grandma, don't do it here. Swear words, racy videos, and violent images are not allowed. Treat Outschool like a public place, and when in doubt, keep things covered. We will be presenting our ideas on puzzles, tricks, and traps for everyone to enjoy. There are many, many clever ideas already in use in the world of D&D, but we will take those ideas and go one step further through collaboration and positive feedback. Please ensure that your comments and questions are aimed toward a better understanding of HOW the puzzle or trap works and HOW to use the device best in dungeon delve or other adventure. All comments are meant to promote growth and ultimately a better game for our players. This group will be a great deal of fun for DMs, since nothing is more exciting than designing a challenging dungeon for your players!!!!
This is an Outschool Group which focuses upon the role of the Dungeon Master (DM) in the game Dungeon & Dragons. As such, its focus is upon designing fantasy dungeon delves which are both challenging and exciting for their players. Part of this excitement centers upon the creation of riddles, puzzles, and traps in the game for the Player Characters (PCs) to figure out and solve. These fantasy traps are meant to be potentially dangerous and will (in design for the game) involve pits with spikes, giant boulders, and such which are meant to catch the players unaware if they do not keep their wits about them. Some of the ideas for puzzles, tricks and traps are taken from existing D&D modules, D&D supplements, but most will come from the students themselves - all will be monitored to ensure they do not get too carried away with their maniacal ideas. Run well traps are alot of fun for everyone.
