What's included
Group experience
This group will be all about Morse code and helping learners continue to improve their skills and engage with other like minded individuals. If you have taken some Morse code classes or you just want to be part of the group as a beginner, all are welcome! This group is for everyone passionate about learning Morse code. Once a week each Monday, learners will get a new interactive post with an activity to complete. The posts will include, but are not limited to: - Typed up secret messages in Morse Code that need to be decoded - Recorded mp3 audio file of a live radio Morse Code conversation between myself (KC2SAL) and another operator at 5-10 words per minute that learners will need to listen to for their weekly challenge - Recorded mp3 audio file with Morse Code that students will need to respond with a clear recorded mp3 recording - Morse Code challenge where learners will need to respond to a typed up message that uses actual abbreviations used on the radio (for example: QTH means "My location...") I will be giving specific feedback on all student responses to the weekly postings that will help each learner improve on a particular aspect of either sending or receiving Morse Code. I will also be encouraging students to post questions and interact with the other learners so that they can have fun sending secret messages to each other. I will be commenting and responding to questions every day as necessary. For students who also want to eventually get a radio setup for themselves and study for their license, I will provide resources and guidance on how to get started. If students are able to get a radio setup properly, they will be able to meet me on the radio and practice sending some Morse Code and having a basic conversation. If your learner is serious about learning Morse Code and wants to be part of a fun group with many level appropriate challenging activities, come join us and learn together!
Learning Goals
This group will be a fun and engaging place where students can continue to practice Morse code through projects and interact with other passionate learners.
