What's included

Group experience

This is a monthly subscription social chat group designed for teens with autism and special needs. Learners will be encouraged to share their interests with one another while asking and answering questions appropriately. The goal of this group is to help our students practice their conversational exchanges while being guided with topic questions by a teacher. One of our teachers will be moderating this group by providing question prompts, helping learners stay on topic and answer one another appropriately with more details. They will be facilitating, prompting and moderating social questions and answers on an ongoing basis. Each week, the teacher will help initiate the conversation for the week with a theme or topic to help encourage teens to interact in the group. For example, the teacher will start each week with a conversation topic question. Some examples include: “What is your favorite movie and why do you like it?” Or “Do you have any pets? If so, tell us about them” Or “What is your favorite game to play?” Sometimes, the teacher may start the week by asking learners to describe their weekend and what they did. These questions and conversation prompts will help to initiate conversation among the learners and lead to them commenting and asking one another additional questions. The goal is to help these learners become more comfortable and confident with asking and answering questions, while building connections, finding common interests and making friends!

My favorite movie is the Super Mario movie. I loved it because I love Mario. I really thought the movie was funny. Did anyone else see that movie ?
I also liked the Super Mario movie, but my favorite movie is Home Alone. I watch it every Christmas but even when it's not Christmas time.
My favorite movie Spiderman into the Spiderverse . I am a big Spiderman and Marvel fan. Does anyone else here like Marvel?
