What’s more, I offer a “pay what you can” discount for all flex classes! Just sign up for the class and then send a message requesting your preferred discount. ▬▬▬▬▬▬ COURSE SUMMARY ▬▬▬▬▬▬

The Zelda video game franchise includes a ton of cool creatures, characters, and enemies! Many of the beings of Hyrule are inspired by the mythological beings from the real world. Each class, we'll explore 12-14 mythological stories from our world, and compare them to the creatures the Link encounters in the many Zelda games.

Week 1: Mythology of the World (mythologies that exist in multiple countries)

Week 2: Greek Mythology

Week 3: Norse Mythology, Celtic Mythology, and European Folklore

Week 4: Mythology of Asia and the Middle East

Week 5: Mythology of the Americas, Africa, and Australia.

Please note that this is not a comprehensive overview of all mythologies of the world. Instead, the focus is on which creatures, characters, and items from mythology have similarities to Zelda. Prior to class, students should have a general knowledge of what mythology is, and why different cultures around the world would have different mythologies.

▬▬▬▬▬▬ SCHEDULE REQUESTS ▬▬▬▬▬▬

I create my entire teaching schedule based on schedule requests, so if you don't see a time that works for you, please put in a request! However, I can only teach live classes from 9 AM to 4 PM Arizona time, and I am often fully booked a few months out. If you need to watch the class outside that time period, you can enroll in the “flex” version of this class and watch the recordings at your leisure! Here is the link:

Orientación para padres
I will be showing video clips from many different Zelda games. Some are rated T for Teen (such as Twilight Princess) and some (such as Breath of the Wild) are rated E10+, which means they are rated for age 10 years or older. While many children younger than 10 have played Breath of the Wild and enroll in this class, I feel it's important to state that I will be showing video clips from these games, and there will be some violence/battle scenes. Also, in this class we discuss many scary mythical monsters, such as zombies. Sensitive souls may not appreciate these creepier creatures.

Most of my classes come with projects or extension activities your child can do at home. Because every family situation is different, all of these activities and assignments are optional and at the discretion of the parent.
