Jóvenes narradores: creando historias juntos
Experiencia de clase
Nivel de inglés: desconocido
Grado de EE. UU. Preschool - 1
Children are full of stories, some from real life experiences and some from their imagination. This class makes connections between play and storytelling, encouraging young learners to use materials they have at home along with their imagination to create stories of their own. The class starts with an interactive story. Children will have opportunities to participate in the storytelling through movement, repetitive phrases, adding details, or making predictions at key moments in the story....
- Learners will explore multiple ways of storytelling and in the process build key literacy skills such as: expanding their vocabulary, developing attentive listening skills, gaining an understanding of story sequence, as well as developing critical thinking skills. The overall goal of this class is for children to feel confident in their abilities to be storytellers and motivated to include storytelling in their play, which over time will support their literacy development.
I have a Masters in early childhood and inclusive education with an emphasis on literacy. I have been an educator for 20 years and am passionate about teaching literacy skills that support a lifelong love of reading and writing. I see all children as capable individuals who are motivated to learn when their interests are honored and they are encouraged to make their own discoveries.
We use basic materials that you will find around your house for our stories. The type of storytelling that we will be doing in the class each week can be found by looking at the full class description, just scroll down to the topics list and you will see the dates along with the materials needed. We rotate through 4 types of storytelling and these are the supplies that go with each type: • Block stories (supplies: something to build with) • Loose part stories (supplies: any small items, rocks, bottle caps, recycled materials, basic craft supplies, a few small toys, etc.) • Drawing Stories (supplies: paper and something to draw with) • Playdough stories (supplies: playdough) If you have any questions about materials, please send me a message.
Los estudiantes no necesitarán utilizar ninguna aplicación o sitio web más allá de las herramientas estándar de Outschool.
