This detective class will focus on problem-solving skills as well as communication skills. Students will be able to practice dinosaur names, letter recognition, counting, and colors,  in a fun, encouraging, and exciting way. Students will learn how to find the dinosaur in the picture. This method of teaching will allow the students to use their knowledge and creativity and build detective skills. These classes will also help students focus better since they will need to be very concentrated in order to find the hidden dinosaur.

This class will be taught in a game style for the students because they will be searching for the hidden dinosaur and they will receive positive affirmations once they find the lost dinosaur. Students will have to use their detective skills throughout this class. I will screen share a picture where I have secretly hidden the dinosaur and I will wait for them to find it. I will give the students time to really think and try to figure it out on their own and with their fellow friends before giving out any hints. This detective class will help students learn important life skills such as Problem-solving, Critical thinking, Oral communication, and they will learn how to pay attention to details.

Learners will all have the opportunity to find the missing dinosaur and they will be allowed to get creative and make up a reason as to why they think the animal went missing, how it ran away, or how it escaped. Learners will also be able to participate and share any facts or information that they might know of the animal. Learners will also be encouraged to help each other if they are having trouble finding the animal and this way they will build communicative and social skills. We will be playing the detective game with pictures and slides that I will share with them in order to keep the students engaged.

I am a very enthusiastic and energetic teacher, My goal is to make my classroom environment a safe place where even shy students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas. I motivate my students to openly engage in the class topics allowing everyone to participate, making sure other students are being respectful, kind, and listening. I will make sure to applaud good behavior and say thank you for the student’s participation, thoughts, and opinions. I will allow every student to share their answer and reasoning with the class after each question is presented. Here on my personal teaching corner at Outschool, learning shall not be boring but FUN! I love making my students feel comfortable in class and seeing their creativity and personality SHINE. I motivate students of all personality types to come to any of my classes because everyone is welcome.

*I have part 1 and part 2 of this class written in the title to differentiate that although it is a one-time class we will be finding different dinosaurs in each of those classes. I have made part 2 to offer another option for the kiddos that really enjoyed the class and wanted to go find more dinos.
