In my ongoing creative writing class, students will work on creating short stories, poems, and other exciting writing pieces. 

Each week we will have a different writing prompt. We will begin our lesson with a weekly check-in and then move to talking about the genre of the week. Students will be provided examples before beginning. While a majority of writing will take place in class, students are encouraged to continue writing after class or throughout the week. 

The prompts provided will be enjoyable for students, as this will motivate them to want to write. 

One week a month we will play a game that seems to be highly requested by students. In this game, I start by giving the learners one sentence. From there, each learner takes turns writing a sentence to be added on to our story. This is a class favorite, as the stories we come up with end up being hilarious and the most creative of all.
