This is also a Content Rich Writing Course that will assist writers with producing cohesive content in their essay responses. Students will practice reading multiple texts followed by constructing a cohesive response from them. This is definitely a Common Core strategy and skill that is tested throughout school districts. It is imperative that the enrolled student is of the minimum age to meet the rigor of the lessons. Additionally, no exemplars will be used in this course. This is a 21-day course.

LESSON OBJECTIVES, SKILLS & STRATEGIES TO BE TAUGHT:
+ Lessons will be disseminated by PowerPoint Slide Presentation
+ Four basic genres addressed: descriptive, expository, narrative, and persuasive writing
+ Student responses will be written in a 3, 4, 5 PARAGRAPH essay format.
+ Read short articles and Extract information to construct responses.
+ Brainstorm ideas and organize their thoughts to create cohesive final drafts.
+ Use Aristotle Persuasive Appeals, Thesis Statements, Counterarguments, and Rebuttals.

NARRATIVE WRITING LESSONS

Students will learn how to construct 3 - 5 paragraph writing responses when given a specific task. They will be required to incorporate literary elements, devices, techniques, and vocabulary into their text to enhance the quality of their writing.

Welcome, my name is Ms. Nori.
While teaching Language Arts on the Outschool platform, I encourage student engagement as a way to check for understanding and as a way to encourage participation. My classes are structured to disseminate the information to small groups or individual students which focus on academic vocabulary building, reading comprehension improvement, basic and common core writing skills, and grammar rules and the application of them. My courses are built to assist learners in a variety of grades. Please Note: I am a Regular Education Teacher with training in English Education and Reading.
