What will be taught: 
Day One:
Students learn that writing a news article can be a wonderful career as a journalist and they always have the inside scoop.
Students learn how to write an effective article, that leads to all significant information. Who, what, where, when and why or how.
Students will learn how the body of the story they are writing gives more detail information about what happened. 
Students will learn the conclusion is the interesting but does not contain important details. 
Students learn that short news articles they learn how to use key words for gathering information. 
Students will them put into practice writing a article. Lead, 5 w's and the conclusion. 
Students will learn to use organizers to help put their article together. 
Day Two:
Students will have a prepared news article to discuss and talk about to clearly see if the student understands what belongs in the final product. 
Students will learn different ways writing a news article, such as observing an event, experience, interviewing someone,  upcoming event. etc. 
Students learn ways to keep the readers interest, using a quote, or maybe something with uninteresting or interesting details. 
How is the lesson taught: 
Students will learn how to choose, and think about their audience, what would they want to know. 
Students will learn different ways to write the article. Such as using a pyramid structure to outline their news. 
Students learn how do I research subject taking careful notes, questions, jotting down quotations etc.
Students write the article using the 5 W's method then add details from the most important to the least important. 
The students learn to come up with a headline with will get the reader's attention. 
Student will learn to revise and proofread their article making sure their are no word errors, are the facts clear etc.
Students will learn to make their final copy to make a class newspaper. 
Great for students who love writing and help see how writers can give a clearer picture. 
Google slides, student engagement, discussion, doc cam.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will learn and understand the 5 W's are the key words that help gather information needed to write a good news article. Students are taught how to write these ideas in the first paragraph, learning the lead and answer most if not all the 5 W's. The class will also help students learn that the body of the story expands on the information and ends with a neat conclusion.

Orientación para padres
Parental guidance in case of technical difficulties or logging on. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for each week for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
