There are two types of homework for a workshop of this sort: either extend the draft or continue with the revisions. After a good writing workout, a student usually knows which path is right for them. They can usually tell which type of work is calling to them and will propel them into the next session.Evaluación

This class is a focused writing workshop dedicated to bringing out the best in the writing of a single student, Using a rigorous, detail-oriented method, we will collaboratively examine and revise a draft that our student brings to the meeting. If our student needs help in coming up with ideas about what to write about, we will steer the class toward that early, pre-writing phase. Any issue that stands in the way of our student expressing themselves brilliantly with writing is no match for our concerted effort here.

In this class, we consult with the book, "Several Short Sentences About Writing" by Verlyn Klinkenborg. Our student is not required to get this book in order to participate in this class. We also read from "Writing Down The Bones" by Natalie Goldberg and "Writing With Power" by Peter Elbow both of which are excellent companions on our journey
