Esta clase mejorará la redacción de ensayos mediante estrategias de redacción que fortalecen el desarrollo de ideas, afirmaciones y evidencias, y la edición. Las lecciones cubrirán cada paso de la redacción en detalle, lo que dará como resultado un ritmo más lento que los cursos de redacción típicos.

Nivel Beginner
This writing workshop will help to improve student's essay writing for 3 different genres of writing: Opinion/Argumentative, Informative/Explanatory and Narrative writing. Students will use Mentor text to help support ideas in writing. Students will be expected to read grade level text, and begin writing process in class. Some writing will be assigned outside of class to be completed independently. This workshop will use the gradual release model of teaching. Writing strategies and process will be modeled first, and supports given as students work to complete essays independently. Students are expected to work on writing during class, take notes, and interact during class discussions.

~Google Documents-easily accessible through a gmail account. Students will share their writing with the instructor for feedback. ~Printer (optional)-Mentor text and articles will be used during lessons. Text will be sent before class if students want to print and take notes, or highlight during lessons. ~Paper & Pencil-taking notes while using the mentor text

I love reading! I enjoy reading all kinds of books and want to teach others the joys of reading!
I teach reading to all ages from Reading Foundational skills, to Fluency, and Comprehension. I teach foundational math skills to elementary students or any age needing practice with math concepts. I have been in education for 16 years. I served as a teacher and tutor in grades K-5, an academic instructional coach for all subjects K-5, and intervention specialist for grades 2-5.
Philosophy of Education: All students can learn given the appropriate environment, and tools. We first learn to read, then read to learn.
The toughest math concepts all lead back to basic concrete principles. Teachers should provide tools for students to think and problem solve. After the tools are given the teacher than facilitates learning through questioning.
