Welcome to World History!

In this engaging sixth-grade level course, students will journey through world history starting with a foundational overview of world geography, both past and present. We’ll begin by exploring the continents and oceans, then dive into early human history, examining theories of human origins and migration patterns across the globe.

As the course unfolds, students will analyze the rich histories and cultures of African, Asian, and Middle Eastern civilizations. Through a variety of source materials, they will explore the key events, influential individuals, and cultural innovations that shaped these regions and left lasting impacts on the world.

🧭 Topics Include:

World geography and mapping skills

Early human life and migrations

Ancient civilizations of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East

Cultural contributions, belief systems, and technological advancements

Historical figures and events that influenced global development

📚 Course Format:
This is an asynchronous course, which means there are no live class meetings. Students can complete the material at their own pace. From your start date, you’ll have 1 full year to access and complete the lessons.

The course spans 20 weeks of content and includes:

Recorded video lectures

Supplemental YouTube videos

Readings, worksheets, and creative activities such as recipes, movie suggestions, dioramas, or simple experiments

👩‍🏫 Teacher Communication:
While the lessons are self-paced, I (your teacher!) will be available for communication and support during the official 20-week course period. I'm here to answer questions, offer feedback, and guide you through your historical adventure!
If you choose to submit homework or communicate (through on the classroom page), I will respond within 24 hours (with Sundays off).
