This exciting weekly course covers a complete geography academic curriculum in a fun and interactive way. Learners will become immersed in the wonders of geography through fascinating facts, quizzes, experiments, art and craft, worksheets and much more. Geography can help us understand the planet’s movement, changes and systems. Topics that are relevant to today such as climate change, water availability and natural resources are much easier understood by those who know geography well. It also puts history in context. It helps us see the why, when and how of what happened in history. Studying geography helps us to have an awareness of a place. All places and spaces have been shaped by humans, earth and climate. It gives a meaning and awareness to places and spaces as well as helping learners with spatial awareness on the globe. Understanding direction and where things are in the world is still a vital skill, despite having easy access to this information online. More and more, we are a worldwide community — joined by causes, conflicts, business and families. Geography matters today more than ever because our learners are growing up in a globalised world. The study of geography opens up learners' awareness to what is around them locally and globally, and the connectedness of people within those places. This knowledge can help them think critically about the world as they become the world's government, business and family leaders of the future. Geography teaches us about our differences, but also about our similarities which can help us all to be better global citizens. Whether your learner is home schooled or you would just like them to explore a broader curriculum than most schools offer, this course will take them on an epic journey from the beginning of time and space, through planets to underwater habitats as well as into volcanoes and earthquakes. My goal is to inspire them to become lifetime learners with a thirst for knowledge. They will have the opportunity to develop their skills in understanding, communicating, empathising and analysing at an age appropriate level. Learners are welcome to join any topic that is of particular interest or stay for a longer period of time to cover a full geography curriculum. Each weekly lesson is a standalone topic and does not need previous knowledge. Below are the topics that will be covered over the next few months. What is covered in this course?
