*Note: This Flex class is a compilation of six of my one-time classes under the Wildlife Tour series. You can view these in my profile if your learner prefers live classes.

In the next six weeks, we will travel to six of the seven continents and explore the vast diversity of wildlife across the globe. Through our study of the ecosystems and their wildlife, we will also gain a deeper understanding of threats to their existence and the conservation required to help these wild places thrive for the future.

Week 1: Wildlife of the Northern Great Plains (USA and Canada)
Week 2: Wildlife of Madagascar
Week 3: Wildlife of Lake Baikal, Russia
Week 4: Wildlife of the Amazon Rainforest
Week 5: Wildlife of Iceland
Week 6: Wildlife of the Great Barrier Reef

From north to south, east to west, we will explore these worlds and the animals that live there. Please note that week 6 overlaps with my Coral Reef Ecology Flex and the Cnidarian one-time flex, but is still a unique class.

Each lesson includes a pre-recorded video touching on the basics of the scheduled topic for students to watch. In addition, supplemental videos, homework assignments, tasks, fun activities, and discussion questions will be posted. Students who diligently complete the assignments and tasks will get the most out of the course. If you are taking this as a home-school course, please message me to discuss assessment (letter/percentage grades, etc).

Throughout the course, I will facilitate online discussions in the Outschool classroom. This will allow students to discuss what they are learning with me. I will be in the classroom frequently discussing with students and providing feedback. I hope students will participate fully in online discussions, but I expect students to try to check in at least weekly.

I value my students' experience and want it to be a fun and fruitful course. You can expect responses to emails or inquiries within a few days (though usually much quicker).
Metas de aprendizaje
After six weeks, students will be able to describe these six ecosystems, major characteristics of the area, and thoroughly describe several animals in each location. Students will gain a more comprehensive view of global ecology and what it takes to conserve our world.
