Get ready for an exciting 4-week adventure into the wild! In this interactive course, young animal lovers will explore different habitats and meet real live animal ambassadors—including snakes, turtles, lizards, amphibians, and arthropods! Each week, we will: 📖 Start with a fun and engaging PowerPoint lesson 🦎 Meet live animals that represent the habitat we are learning about 🎨 Participate in discussions, activities, and optional at-home worksheets Students will learn about animal adaptations, ecosystems, and why protecting habitats is so important! Class Breakdown (Week-by-Week) 🐾 Week 1: What is a Habitat? Learn what makes a habitat and why animals need specific environments Explore the five major habitat types (Desert, Rainforest, Wetlands, Forest, Grasslands) Meet a variety of live animals and guess which habitat they belong to! 🏜️ Week 2: The Hot & Dry – Deserts and Grasslands Discover how animals survive extreme heat, sandstorms, and droughts Learn about camouflage, burrowing, and other desert/grassland adaptations Meet snakes, tortoises, and lizards from these harsh environments! 🌳 Week 3: The Wet & Wild – Rainforests and Wetlands Explore the most biodiverse places on Earth Learn about layers of the rainforest and water-loving wetland creatures Meet frogs, amphibians, and arthropods that thrive in these environments! 🌲 Week 4: The Cool & Cozy – Forests and Human Impact on Habitats Explore how animals survive cold winters and seasonal changes Discuss human impact on habitats and how we can help wildlife Meet a mix of animals from different habitats and review what we’ve learned!

Live animals will be present during class. While no direct handling by students will occur, some learners may have questions or concerns about certain species (e.g., snakes, insects). Parents are welcome to observe as needed.
