¿Dónde en Sudamérica? - ¡Una búsqueda del tesoro interactiva por Sudamérica!

Where in South America can you explore the Amazon, visit Machu Picchu, or dance the tango? Join me on an interactive scavenger hunt around South America! As a continuation of my "Where in the World" class series, young learners will have the opportunity to explore the South American continent while searching for different country specific items. During our virtual field trip, learners will go on a make believe airplane ride to six different South American countries. Through a multimedia presentation that includes maps, photos, and videos we will experience:

          -Going on a train ride to Machu Picchu in Peru
          -Seeing the giant tortoises on the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador 
          -Exploring the Amazon rainforest in Brazil
          -A visit to the world's largest salt flat- the Salar de Uyuni- in Bolivia
          -Dancing the Tango in Buenos Aires in Argentina
          -An excursion to the Patagonia region in Chile to witness the Grey Glacier

We will also learn how to say a greeting in each country and identify the first letter of each country. Our journey around South America will be very interactive and full of movement and activities to keep young children engaged! 

Each learner will be provided with two printable handouts prior to the class. The first handout will contain six pictures of items to look for as we explore each country. Children will be encouraged to keep their eyes open for the items on the printable, and they can circle each item as we find it. The second handout will contain the names of the countries we will visit, with a space to match each country specific item. After class is over, students may glue the scavenger hunt pictures to the country where we found them.
