Quicksand. Killer bees. Avalanches. A hungry bear. Chances are, you'll never encounter any of these things. Phew! But...What if? In this class, science, nature, and survival-loving students will explore survival strategies for seven improbable scenarios, including being: 

Lost in the desert
Caught in quicksand
Swarmed by killer bees
Caught in an avalanche
Attacked by a Bear
Bitten by a venomous snake
Trapped under a downed power line

I use a self-made PowerPoint, pictures, a few short videos, discussion, questioning, lots of humor, and some low-stress quiz questions to keep the instruction fun and engaging, yet educational, too. Students will learn WHAT to do and hilariously what definitely NOT to do in these unlikely situations.
