Discover how literature changes, shaped history, and continues to influence our world today. This ongoing course will deepen your understanding of literature and history connects. Longer texts will be read outside of class and discussed in class. Shorter texts will be read during class and discussed.

This class is perfect for readers that want to expand their scope, history lovers, or anyone just curious about world history and literary culture. Texts such as these are also commonly encountered on the SAT/PSAT/ACT. 

Note that students should be reading at a 9th grade reading level (minimum) in order to join. Text are appropriate for ages 10+

Comprehension questions and critical thinking writing responses are available with optional feedback each week.

Texts have been excerpted/curated so that they may be appropriate for most learners. All religious texts (sermons, myths, etc.) will be taught from a secular viewpoint. Discussions of prejudice, violence, and war may be discussed, however, topics are not graphic.

Students should be motivated students and reading at a high school level
