In this ongoing course, your child will learn about everything from the coolest, grossest, creepiest deep sea creatures, to the coolest, grossest, creepiest things on land, and everything in between! For a weekly breakdown of topics, please see the course outline at the bottom of this section. The diversity within the animal kingdom is astounding! In this ongoing class, we will dive into this world by exploring 3 interesting yet creepy, cool or gross creatures each week. Did you know that the Hagfish is the slimiest thing on earth and that it can fill a milk jug with slime in mere seconds? Ew! Or how about the fact that there are creatures out there who look like bird poop on purpose? Gross! Each week, we will thoroughly cover 3 interesting creatures. Afterwards, learners will be encouraged to share which animal they think is the coolest of the three we discussed that day, and why! Finally, we will play a short trivia game about what we’ve learned! Answers are sent privately though class chat, and the game is optional, so there is no pressure for learners to play. They are welcome to observe if they prefer! Afterward, they can enjoy a game of Kahoot! to test their new knowledge! As always, questions and comments are welcome, and my enthusiastic, authentic learner based approach will ensure that your child gets the most out of our time together. They will be able to come to you with new knowledge to share, so that you too, can share in their learning experience! I look forward to building this community of like-minded learners as we take on the creepiest, coolest and grossest creatures on the planet! Orientación para padres
As can be expected with the grossest things, we will be discussing animals who eat their poop (there are many interesting reasons why animals do such a thing). There will also be a PG feeding video of my own pet python to demonstrate what a constrictor does when it attacks its prey. I will use humor to keep the kids on track and focused when it comes to learning these silly facts!
Other topics that may come up are evolution, reproduction, and natural selection.

Do you have an animal lover in your life? Or perhaps a future zoologist, veterinarian, or conservation minded young learner? Then you've come to the right spot!
My name is Marie, and as an Animal Science teacher, I would love to teach your child all about the amazing animals in this world!
I have taught over 20,000 students on Outschool, and I have 18 years of experience teaching at all levels.
I believe in eliciting as much student output as possible. Learners are encouraged to ask questions (and to share knowledge on each topic) as we learn together.
When I am not playing an instrument, I enjoy watching every nature show in existence alongside my children, learning as much as I can about the weird animals in the world so that I can bring it to the classroom and share it with your child!
I look forward to meeting your learner in class!
Ms. Marie
