My main goal in this class is to answer questions students have about becoming a pilot. This is an introductory class that is meant to be discussion and interactive with the students and I welcome any questions related to flying, airplanes, or being a pilot. ***If current Available Times do not fit your schedule, please click on "Show Alternative Times" and you can auto-schedule a class for any date and time that I am available*** During this class, I will discuss the pathway to become a pilot including the training, education, and licenses you need to get to learn to fly an airplane and be a pilot from starting with private pilot up to an Airline Transport Pilot (flying for the airlines and getting paid to be a professional pilot). I will give a brief background of my personal path to becoming a pilot through the private private pilot and the Air Force and the differences between the two. I have experience flying a single engine propeller airplane like the Cessna 172, twin engine turboprop, military jet trainers (T-37 and T-38), an Air Force B-1 bomber, and also commercial aircraft like an Embraer 175 and the Airbus 320 and will discuss the different types of flying and lifestyles and costs associated with each. I am a retired Air Force Colonel with over 24 years of active duty and currently I am an Airline Pilot flying for a major US airline. I have over 3,000 hours of flying in both military and civilian airplanes and was an Air Force Instructor Pilot and also taught college Air Force ROTC classes.

***I have returned to active airline flying. My class schedule is limited by my flying schedule and I will add classes when available. I also may have to cancel class if my schedule changes and will issue full refunds when that happens.***
I am a pilot and am focused on aircraft, aviation, and pilot subjects. I'd love to share my love of flying and airplanes with students of all ages.
I have a bachelors degree in computer science and a masters degree in information resource management. I spent 24 years on active duty in the US Air Force and retired as a Colonel and was also a B-1 instructor pilot, teaching new Air Force pilots how to fly the B-1 bomber, with 1,640 hours total flying the B-1 and 444 combat hours. I spent 2 years teaching AF ROTC classes to college students interested in becoming an officer in the US Air Force. I also flew for a major airline and have my private pilots license, instrument and commercial pilot ratings, and my Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating with specific type ratings in the Airbus 320 (A-320) and Embraer 170 and 190 (E-170 and E-190). I have also flown a Cessna 172, a Piper PA-28 Cherokee, a Beechcraft King Air 200 (military C-12), the Cessna T-37 Tweet, the Northrop T-38 Talon, as well as the Rockwell B-1B bomber and the Airbus 319, 320, and 321 with over 3,000 total hours of flying time combined.
I believe in honesty, integrity, and hard work and taking responsibility for your actions and owning and learning from your mistakes.
I have completed 13 marathons including the New York, Marine Corps, Chicago and several Hard Rock marathons. I have also flown supersonic (faster than the speed of sound), and am the father of 3 boys.
