Experiencia de clase

In this small-group class, learners will learn how to singing healthfully and with their best voice. Each week will build on material and skills learned in previous lessons. Learners will learn to build healthy singing techniques in posture, breathing, tone, and musicality in a dynamic small-group setting. Learners will learn to be aware of their bodies as an instrument through stretching, posture corrective exercises, and vocal exercises. Learners will learn three songs during the 12-week class. Each student will have the opportunity to sing in front of the class for individualized and personalized instruction. Only the teacher will make corrections for the learners. Mistakes are how we learn skills. Singing is a skill, and mistakes are encouraged. Learners will be allowed to make mistakes in a friendly, positive, and supportive environment. I strive to teach my learners to sing healthfully with their best voice while maintaining a respect for accomplished singers, both past and present. The teaching of singing involves a holistic approach in terms of voice, mind, body, intellect, interests, and goals. I strive to foster confidence, creativity, and self-expression in my learners. Vocal exercises and songs are assigned to address these needs. Learners must play an active role in their voice instruction, and understand for what purpose exercises and songs are assigned in order to promote future independence as a musician. All instruction adheres to the Code of Ethics set forth by the National Association of Teachers of Singing (of which I am a member), and am committed to providing the best in vocal music education to my learners.

I look forward to working with your learners in a supportive and creative environment.
