*What Will Be Taught?

In this 1-on-1 beginner vocal class, your child will learn fundamental vocal techniques to build confidence and improve their singing. The course will cover key areas such as breath control, pitch accuracy, range expansion, articulation, tone development, and performance skills. Through targeted exercises, we’ll ensure they understand the basics of vocal technique and begin exploring their unique voice.

*What Topics Will You Cover?

Throughout the 8-week course, we’ll cover the following topics:

Breathing Techniques: Learn how to properly breathe using the diaphragm to support their singing voice.

Pitch & Ear Training: Develop pitch accuracy and the ability to match and sing in tune.
Vocal Range: Explore and expand vocal range using practical exercises for both chest and head voice.

Articulation & Diction: Improve the clarity of lyrics and phrases for more effective vocal communication.

Tone & Resonance: Focus on developing a consistent, warm, and resonant sound.

Performance Skills: Teach stage presence, confidence, and how to emotionally connect with a song.

Final Performance: At the end of the course, students will perform a song that incorporates everything they’ve learned.

*How Is Your Class Structured?

Each lesson is personalized based on the student’s pace and progress. The class is structured as follows:

Warm-Up (5-10 minutes): Starting each session with basic breathing and vocal exercises to prepare the voice for singing.

Technique Practice: Focus on specific vocal techniques such as pitch accuracy, tone development, or vocal range expansion.

Song Application: Practicing a song that integrates the techniques learned, allowing students to apply them in a musical context.

Review & Feedback: Recap what was covered in the lesson, address challenges, and provide feedback for improvement.

*How Will You Teach?

I use a hands-on, supportive approach to teaching, offering clear explanations and encouragement as students practice new techniques. I’ll guide your child through each step, ensuring they feel confident in applying what they learn. During lessons, I’ll demonstrate techniques and offer personalized feedback to help them improve.

*What’s Your Teaching Style?

My teaching style is friendly, patient, and adaptable to each student's needs. I aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring their voice without fear of making mistakes. I believe in positive reinforcement and make lessons enjoyable while focusing on improvement. I encourage open communication, so your child feels comfortable asking questions and expressing any challenges they face.

*How Much Will Learners Get to Interact with You?

Each 1-on-1 lesson provides ample time for your child to interact with me, as the class is entirely focused on their learning experience. This allows for:

Personalized Instruction: I work directly with the student on specific exercises tailored to their voice and needs.

Q&A Opportunities: I encourage students to ask questions about techniques, songs, or performance-related topics.

Feedback and Encouragement: After each exercise or song, I give direct, constructive feedback, guiding students through areas of improvement.

Interactive Exercises: The class includes interactive exercises where the student actively participates in breath control drills, vocal warm-ups, and pitch-matching games. I also use simple vocal exercises that are fun yet challenging.

*Additional Considerations:

Class Materials: I’ll provide any resources, such as sheet music or vocal exercises, in a way that aligns with your child’s progress. There are no trademarked materials unless specifically cleared for use, ensuring that all resources are either original or used with permission.

Practice Time: Students will be encouraged to practice between classes. I’ll give them specific exercises to work on to reinforce lessons learned.

Orientación para padres
In this beginner voice class, most of the content is designed to be accessible and supportive. However, there are a couple of areas that might be a bit challenging for some learners: Breath Control Exercises – Certain breath control techniques, such as holding breath for extended periods, may feel uncomfortable or intimidating to beginners. It’s important to take these exercises at your own pace, and we’ll focus on gradual improvement to avoid any strain. Vocal Range Expansion – Expanding vocal range can sometimes be frustrating if a student feels limited by their current range. It’s important to approach these exercises with patience and to avoid pushing beyond comfort. We’ll focus on a gentle, incremental approach to developing the voice. Performance Practice – For some students, performing a song in front of a teacher can be nerve-wracking. We’ll focus on creating a relaxed, low-pressure environment to build confidence, and students can always choose to practice songs in private until they feel ready to perform. If any of these areas feel challenging, we’ll always adapt the pace of the class and ensure that the focus remains on creating a positive and encouraging learning experience.
