In this class, students analyze irony, foreshadowing, symbolism, and characterization while developing key literacy skills (RL.1, 3, 4, 6; CC.7, 10). Through creative sketchnoting, learners will illustrate key moments and literary devices, bringing the chilling narrative to life. 

 Step into A Sound of Thunder, where time travel leads to unexpected consequences. In this self-paced class, students explore situational irony, cause and effect, and the impact of small actions on the future. Aligned with NCTE/IRA standards (1, 4, 7), learners will analyze Bradbury’s narrative through sketchnoting, reinforcing vocabulary, literary elements, and ethical reflections on technology. 

 Enter the chilling world of The Cask of Amontillado, where an unreliable narrator weaves a dark tale of revenge. In this self-paced class, students explore setting, first-person narration, irony, and foreshadowing. Aligned with NCTE/IRA standards (3, 4, 6, 11, 12), learners will analyze theme, point of view, and vocabulary through creative sketchnoting, deepening their understanding of Poe’s masterful storytelling.
