I’m thrilled to invite you to our special one-time class on Hokkaido, part of our comprehensive series on the Geography of Japan. This class will take you on a captivating journey through Hokkaido, the northernmost region of Japan, known for its unique culture, stunning natural beauty, and delicious cuisine. Whether you're a seasoned traveler, a geography enthusiast, or simply curious about the wonders of Japan, this class is perfect for you!

①Learn about Hokkaido’s distinct characteristics compared to the rest of Japan.
②Discover its breathtaking landscapes, from sprawling fields to majestic mountains and vast national parks.
③Explore the rich culture and history of the Ainu, the indigenous people of Hokkaido.
④Discuss the importance of preserving Ainu culture in today’s world.
⑤Explore famous natural landmarks, such as hot springs, volcanoes, and the captivating Shiretoko Peninsula.
⑥Discover fresh seafood, Hokkaido ramen, dairy delights, and other regional specialties.

🏫Class Details🏫
★Date & Time: July 27th (and possible other times if there is interest)
★Platform: The class will be conducted using Zoom, YouTube and Google Slides for a rich and interactive learning experience.
★Assessment: After the class, there will be an assessment to gauge your understanding and knowledge of Hokkaido’s unique aspects.
★Series Information:This class is part of our “A Look at Japan” series, covering various regions including Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima & Nagasaki, Okinawa, and Kyushu. Future classes may explore additional regions such as Nara, Shikoku, Mt. Fuji, Yokohama, Nikko, Niigata, and Tohoku, depending on interest.
