Week 1Lesson 1Setting upWe will set up our computer to link with DaVinci Resolve, and begin our project, using the cut page, and insert a simple transitionWeek 2Lesson 2AudioWe will download free music to use in our projects, and learn about using keyframes to edit our volume.Week 3Lesson 3TextWe will learn to style our text, and then animate it using keyframesWeek 4Lesson 4TimingWe will explore how to create slow motion, speeding up, freeze frames and much more.Week 5Lesson 5The Colour PageWe will explore how to change colours, create black and white, blur, and much more, using the Colour page.Week 6Lesson 6The Fusion PageWe will create a mini project to explore how to use Fusion, and learn more advances ways of editing our text here.Week 7Lesson 7Exploring png overlaysWe will look at various editing tools in addition to using and editing pngs to embellish our projectWeek 8Lesson 8Exploring special effectsWe will explore and edit some of the built-in special effects in DaVinci Resolve, and we will look at different ways of exporting our finished work.
Before becoming a teacher, I was a graphic designer, and worked for an organization as creative administrator. I worked predominantly with Final Cut and Adobe, but have become more familiar with Davinci Resolve recently, and I love how user-friendly it is.
Students will need a computer with Davinci Resolve installed, and ideally, a second device to run the Outschool class on. Students will need to see both DR and Zoom for the lessons.

In this class we use DaVinci Resolve, a free video editing programme. DaVinci is extremely memory-hungry and some computers struggle to get it running, so please ensure you have the software downloaded and tested before class starts so that any issues can be resolved.
