***Students will need to have a background in video editing. If your child is new to video editing, please check out my Beginning Video Editing class. Students will also need to have basic computer skills such as typing, using a mouse, switching between Zoom and the editing program and screen sharing*** Now that your child knows the basics of creating their own videos, they are ready to make them even better. In this class, they will learn how to put that little something extra into their videos. We will be working on creating our own titles and intros that will impress all of their viewers. They will be learning how to do voice-overs and add special effects such as freeze frames, split screens, and even how to use green screens (no green screen required). This class will be hands-on and students will have the opportunity to practice with me as we learn each skill and explore on their own. Students will spend the first 15-20 minutes of class learning the skill for the day and then they will have the second half of class to work individually so that they may ask questions and/or get additional support as they try the skills on their own. Students are encouraged to ask as many questions as they need at any time (even if they have to interrupt instruction) and I am happy to repeat the steps as many times as they need me to. Weekly Topics: Week 1: Creating titles Week 2: More Titles Week 3: Freeze Frames and Split Screen Week 4: Green Screen (no green screen necessary) Week 5: Tracking, Review, and Final Project Presentations
Metas de aprendizaje
By the end of the course, students will be able to create their own titles and add effects to enhance their videos.

Creating things and working with technology can get frustrating for young learners. Sometimes the ideas we have in our head do not always work out the way we want them too, we may encounter glitches with the technology and some of the skills we practice may be difficult at first. Please remind students not to give up when they become frustrated, to be patient, try their best, and ask for help.
Lista de útiles escolares
Students will need a device for filming and taking pictures (cell phones work great) Paper and pencil to take notes If you are new to Filmora9, the program is free! Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Ever since I took a short video editing class in college, video editing has been one of my favorite hobbies. For years I have been creating home videos in my free time. When I became a teacher, I began creating video yearbooks for my kindergarten classes and even decided to start a YouTube channel to share my love of Disney and travel videos with others. I am constantly learning new editing skills and very excited to teach these skills to others.
