Please join us for our Valentine’s Day story time! We will be listening to “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Rose” by Lucille Colandro. Students will be asked to label core vocabulary words when shown individual pictures prior to starting the story. After listening to the story, students will participate in short activities to increase their expressive vocabulary, work on formulating grammatically correct sentences, and responding to comprehension questions. Students will be required to respond to both wh-questions and yes/no questions. Proper support will be given to ensure the student is as successful as possible. Materials will be uploaded in case you’d like to print snd color or extend the lesson into your home.

- Display understanding of and label Valentine’s Day themed vocabulary words.
- Formulate simple grammatically correct sentences (e.g., “I see a red heart”).
- Increase comprehension by responding to wh-questions and yes/no questions.

Hi everyone! I’m Ashley, a pediatric speech-language pathologist (SLP). I have over 10 years of experience working with children ages 3-18, and over 7 years of providing therapy via a computer. My passion is incorporating literacy into my lessons to further a students vocabulary and language skills. I love helping students enhance their speech production by teaching individual phonemes (aka speech sounds!). I’m so excited to share a variety of classes to help give a little extra support to your child. Our story times will involve building vocabulary, listening comprehension, sequencing skills and more. I will offer both group and individual classes to address target sounds that your child needs extra assistance with.
