Each week this course will dive into the fine art of voice acting. Here we will discover the different parts of the voice and how each can be used to execute a new sound and new voice! From funny, to serious, to a tutorial robot, each students will have the chance to read and create characters! Creating is only half of the class. It is just as important to know how to use your instrument. We will go over vocal exercises and warm ups before we begin the readings. Different exercises can be used different weeks depending on what we are covering that week. This class can be fun for any age but the student does need to know how to read. Varying material will be provided to make sure students are given appropriate pieces. Lessons coming up: Character breakdowns: There are so many distinct characters we can find in every show we watch. As we start to pay attention certain "tropes" are found as a common thread throughout. We'll go through tips on how to create voices for common characters scene in the voice acting world that will bring them to life. Reads: Often times as a voice actor you are given a script, it is important to know how to interpret and read it appropriately. Commercials are a steady part of the trade. Did you know there are different types of commercials? Each with their own approach and delivery. Together we'll use different classes to walk through the types of commercials and how to properly bring them to life. Open scenes, narration, character reads and so many more can be handed out in a script. We'll be sure to go into detail on how to approach any written word Accents: May be split into multiple classes. Using specific words we'll practice finding traditional American and Abroad Accents including, Boston, Southern, New York, California, Midwestern, English, Irish and Transylvanian. We will then create characters based on those accents to collect for our repertoire of characters.
