1-2 horas por semana. Each week, students will be given 3-5 options for homework. These could be short (1-2 paragraph) research topics, interviews, videos on youtube, or even movies to watch. We will be designing our own propaganda and discussing strategies that modern advertising uses that is similar to the war time advertisements. Students will work together in teams of 2-3 (depending on class size) to construct a series of propaganda posters containing to social norms today (recycling, eating healthy, safety precautions).Evaluación

The world went under extreme changes throughout the first part of the twentieth century. In this class, we will examine those impact on the U.S. by examining World War I, the roaring twenties, the Harlem Renaissance, the great depression, World War II, and the beginning of 1950's culture. In this class, we will examine different parts of American culture during and between both World Wars. This class will be taught through recorded lectures and may also include supplemental videos (Youtube), readings, worksheets, and activities (recipes, movies, dioramas, experiments, etc.). Please see the syllabus below for a layout of the lessons included in this course. This class is presented in an asynchronous format. If you are taking this class through the Class Subscriptions, there will be no communication between learner and myself. If you are taking this class through the Self-Paced format, you will have 1 year to complete the lessons. If you choose to submit homework or communicate (questions on the classroom page), I will respond within 24 hours (excluding Sundays).

There will be discussion about death (war), segregation and discrimination, sexism, and government policies, as well as the use of both positive and negative propaganda.
This class will utilize Youtube videos for sharing of lecture videos, as well as supplemental lessons. All Youtube videos are embedded into the Outschool platform. This class may also utilize Kahoot. Learners will be given a direct link and game pin to play.
