*If students run out of time to create their mnemonic devices to remember the bottom row, they can create their own outside of class time. *Additionally, they can choose to play the practice game after class which will be supplied on the wall for Typing 103 after class.

Experiencia de clase

In Typing 103, students will focus on the bottom row and review the top row and home row. We will talk about finger placement, posture, and how to memorize the row of keys on the keyboard.
*The teacher reserves the right to withdraw students who have not completed both Typing101 and Typing 102

Requirements:
- Previously completed my Typing 101 - Home Row course
- Previously completed my Typing 102 - Top Row course
- Students need to know the letters of the alphabet and how to type in a chat on Zoom.
- Distinguish between left and right
- Have the ability to participate in a Kahoot.
Preference:
- Working microphones and cameras. I love having cameras on (when possible) to see the kids' facial expressions to check their understanding and to interact during our class by holding up items to the camera.

Class layout:
*Intro/Expectations/Mini lesson/Use Google Slides as a visual
*Asking questions for kids to answer out loud, in a Zoom chat, or on a whiteboard
*Mini check to see if they are understanding the information
*Have them choose a method to practice using the correct finger for a letter by: finding an item that starts with the letter, writing it on a sheet of paper and holding it up to trace with their finger, or writing it on a personal white board and holding it up while erasing the letter with the correct finger.
*Learning about the name of the keyboard
*Brainstorming a mnemonic device to help learn the order of the keys
*Play Kahoot

*Note that missed classes are not within the parameters of Outschool's refund policy. Thank you in advance for understanding.

Orientación para padres
Link supplied after class: Type Toss can be played as a guest. Previous game from Typing 102: Keyboard Jump can be played as a guest. Previous game from Typing 101: Keyboard Ninja, on Typing.com, is a game students can use to specifically practice typing the home row keys after this course is completed. Disclaimer - There is a slicing/sword sound when the fruit pieces are eliminated but no visible object eliminating the fruit when the correct letter is typed. If they type the letter attached to the bomb, the game ends. The ice cube slows the game, and the cherry wins points for all items on the screen. This game can be played as a guest. *No refunds for missed classes.
