In Typing 102, students will focus on the top row and review the home row. We will talk about finger placement, posture, and how to memorize the row of keys on the keyboard. *The teacher reserves the right to withdraw students who have not completed Typing101 Requirements: - Previously completed my Typing 101 - Home Row course - Students need to know the letters of the alphabet and how to type in a chat on Zoom. - Students should know "left" and "right." Preference: - Working microphones...
- Students will learn which fingers are used for which keys in the top row. Students will learn the reason for resting hands on the home row while reaching for the top row. Students will learn how to create a mnemonic device to help them remember the order of the letters. Students will learn about the name of the keyboard.
I have enjoyed teaching a summer typing camp to kids and teaching typing/technology classes to students for roughly 11 years.

Frecuencia: incluidoComentario: incluidoDetalles: *If students run out of time to create their mnemonic devices to remember the top row, they can create their own outside of class time. *Additionally, they can choose to play the practice game after class which will be supplied on the listing for Typing 102.
Suggestions to have nearby during class for interaction: 3-5 pieces of paper with marker(s) (to write large letters) and/or a personal whiteboard and dry erase marker.

Keyboard Jump can be played as a guest. Previous game from Typing 101: Keyboard Ninja, on Typing.com, is a game students can use to specifically practice typing the home row keys after this course is completed. Disclaimer - There is a slicing/sword sound when the fruit pieces are eliminated but no visible object eliminating the fruit when the correct letter is typed. If they type the letter attached to the bomb, the game ends. The ice cube slows the game, and the cherry wins points for all items on the screen. This game can be played as a guest.
