Experiencia de clase

This class is about cars, planes, trains, boats, construction/farming equipment and all other automobiles/vehicles. Students will engage with Teacher Lily (Mrs. Palmer) and other students through discussions, show and tell, play, drawing, and other fun activities. The focus of this group is to have fun talking about and sharing different types of toy automobiles and equipment while practicing age appropriate social skills. This group will also provide an opportunity to socialize/play with other students of the same age group with similar interests. Students who feel more comfortable observing & listening during class are welcome to draw and participate/share at his/her own pace.

For parents: I hope to provide an alternative play option for your children when other social activities are not possible. Although this is an ongoing course, it is absolutely okay to sign up for just one class if you cannot commit to weekly classes. I am listing this as an ongoing course one day a week, but I am willing to add time/days/frequency. Please feel free to request times and I will see if I am available to make a group on the time/day requested.

Weekly Themes/Topics: (Topics may change throughout course based on learner interest and requests). We will have a theme, but learners can share any car or automobile that they would like to during every class.

(If your student is interested in a certain topic, please feel free to send me a message and I would love to create a class session with that topic).

note: If your student is the only one enrolled as class approaches, my preschool age son will happily join the class (if available) to make sure the class has other friends ready to play.

Note: Since this is primarily a play-based class with other younger learners, I generally will not share recordings for safety and privacy reasons. However, if it is possible based on class material, I can sometimes create at home activity sheets from my slides for learners, who may have missed class. So feel free to reach out to me if that is something that you might be interested in.

The teacher will occasionally use excerpts of story books and quick transition video clips (with author's/performer's/creator's permissions) to introduce an activity or allow the students to move/play a game. These will only be used as supporting materials to provide opportunities for social engagement/movement and will not be used for long periods of the class.
(ex. Thelearningstationmusic.com & Jackhartmann.com music videos. See sources sections for a complete list of updated video and book materials used and how to find these sources yourself.)
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will practice age appropriate social skills; such as taking turns, listening, asking questions, following directions and being good friends. They will practice these skills in a fun playgroup through teacher guidance. The students will have an opportunity to share their toys & drawings and practice explaining and giving details.

Orientación para padres
If student is new to Outschool/Zoom, please be in the room or available to help student with mute/unmute buttons if needed. Students will need to have something to share available for class. It does not have to be on theme. Otherwise minimal parental guidance should be needed.
Lista de útiles escolares
Recommended Supplies (Students may use these items for class)
Paper or Whiteboard or drawing tablet
markers/pencils/crayons
Student can use another art medium such as clay, paint, or even blocks if they are interested.
Toy vehicles to share. Toys can be learner created too. The learner does not need new toys every week. The learner can share the same toy each week if that is what the learner chooses. The toy does not need to match the theme of the week.

I will send a message prior to future classes if additional supplies are needed for a fun craft activity, but prefer to keep it simple to allow students an opportunity to work more independently and allow parents to use this 25 min class period as needed with only basic supervision needed on their part.
