In this 10 week ongoing class, we will be learning about a different famous volcano each week. We will learn where it is located and what makes it so famous. We will also be doing a hands on project each week about volcanoes! 

March 27th : Mount St. Helens
Supplies Needed: * Cup or jar
                             * Baking soda
                             * Red food coloring
                             * Vinegar dyed yellow and vinegar dyed red
                             * Tray
                             * Tin foil

April 3rd: Mount Erebus
Supplies Needed: *PDF (will be provided a week in advance or upon enrollment)
                             * Markers


April 10th: Mount Nyiragongo
Supplies Needed: *Plastic sandwich sized ziplock bag
                             * Vinegar dyed orange
                             * Baking soda
                             * A few square of toilet paper

April 17th: Mount Mayon
Supplies Needed: *One sheet of cardstock paper
                             * Brown construction paper cut into the shape of a volcano
                             * Red paint in a dish
                             * Yellow paint in a dish
                             * Baking soda
                             * Paintbrush
                             * Cup of vinegar
                             * Liquid dropper
                             * Tray
                             * Glue

April 24th: Kilauea
Supplies Needed: * Cup or jar
                             * Black or brown playdough
                             * Baking Soda
                             * Vinegar dyed orange
                             * Tray

May 1st: Krakatoa Volcano
Supplies Needed: * Playdough in the following colors: yellow, orange, red, brown, green, and blue. 
                             * Playdough or plastic knife

May 8th: Mount Fuji
Supplies Needed: * Graham Crackers
                             * Cool Whip
                              * Red and yellow food coloring
                              * paper
                              * crayons or markers

May 15th: Mount Pinatubo
Supplies Needed: *PDF (will be provided a week in advance or upon enrollment)
                             * Markers
                             * Scissors
                             * Glue

*No Class May 22nd*

May 29th: Mount Vesuvius
Supplies Needed: * 1/2 cup of clear or white glue
                              * 1/4 - 1/2 cup of liquid starch (must be store bought liquid starch)
                              * 1/2 cup water
                              * Red and yellow food coloring
                                OR
                               * Elmer Slime Kit (preferably in a lava like color!)


June 5th: Mount Etna
Supplies Needed: * Sheet of white paper
                             * Brown paint
                             * Yellow, red, and orange tissue or construction paper cut into small squares
                             * Glue

The supplies needed for each weeks activity will be re - posted in the classroom a week in advance. Activities will vary between science, art, worksheets, and even a special snack one week!
