Welcome Scientists!
Here is our story: Since we're some of the smartest scientists in the world, we decided to create a time travel machine! In our first attempt to make the machine work, we tried to travel to the prehistoric era! (You know, that time when dinosaurs roamed the earth) And guess what? We actually made it! Our machine worked! There was just one small issue... it also broke. Turns out, as we were traveling through time, some of the pieces of our machine got stuck in different eras. Now, we must travel to each era and find the missing pieces to get back to our time!

Course Overview: Students will follow a fictional story transforming them into scientists attempting to find the missing pieces of their time travel machine to get back to their time. Simultaneously, students will work together solving riddles, codes and looking for hidden keys to solve to escape

How does this virtual escape room work?

There are four parts to this escape room. Each part has a time limit and a task (such as figuring out a number code). If the tasks are not complete within their time limit, I will give students the answer, and we'll move on to the next part. The first 3 minutes of our session will be spent talking about class expectations and doing a small icebreaker. Then, the next 5 minutes will be spent going over what a virtual escape room is and how our escape room will work. Finally, we will spend the rest of the session on the actual Escape room :)

Note - I will guide the whole session. We will do the escape room together to avoid disorganization. However, I will not be helping students as much as guiding them through the process.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will improve their critical thinking skills, social skills, and confidence. At the same time, students will learn facts about Maya, the prehistoric era, world war two, and the medieval age.

Fuentes
These are all of the sources that will be referenced during the escape room to present some information about each era. I have made sure to get my information from unbiased and reliable sources. It is also important to note that only some information will be taken from each source (mainly short fun facts that students will find interesting about each topic). This is with the intention that each student will learn more about each time period and have a chance to discuss it (if they want to). Books referenced: 1. The oxford illustrated the history of war world 2 2. Though I have no formal education on the topics that will be discussed, history is something that I have always been passionate about. I have made sure to do research on each topic so that I can provide students with accurate and unbiased information. In addition, we will not go into a lot of detail for each era, we will just learn some fun facts about each era using the sources listed, and talk a little bit about it. Furthermore, teaching, learning, and talking about the Maya civilization is very important to me, because they are the indigenous people from the country where my family is from. I have grown up learning about their culture and I feel confident enough to teach students about it.
