This is an ongoing math class, however, we will cover an entire year of third grade math! This course will follow the logical sequence of a 3rd grade math curriculum, however, students will work on a single topic each week making it easy to join or leave as caregivers see fit. ************************************************************************************************************************************************* CONCEPT LISTING by WEEK ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************ TOPICS BELOW Monday/Wednesday ******************************************************************************************************************************************* Week One: (Sept 5): Place value/ expanded form ***No Class Week of Sept 12*** Week Two: (Sept 19): *Wednesday class ONLY: Rounding/Ordering numbers Week Three: (Sept 26): Mental Math/Whole tens and hundreds Week Four: (Oct 3): Add with regrouping Week Five: (Oct 10): Subtract with borrowing (Oct 17/18 for Mon/Wed) Week Six: (Oct 17): Area model & Arrays multiplication practice (Oct 24/25 for Mon/Wed) Week Seven: (Oct 24): Equal groups & Number line multiplication (NO THURSDAY CLASS)(Oct 31/Nov 2 for Mon/Wed) Week Eight: (Oct 31): Multiply by tens and column multiplication (Nov 7/9 for Mon/Wed) Week Nine: (Nov 7): Meaning of division/skip count division (Nov 14/16 for Mon/Wed) Week Ten: (Nov 14): Division of tens/Long division, no remainders (Nov 21/23 for Mon/Wed) Week Eleven: (Nov 21): Division with remainders/Multiplication and division fact families (NO THURSDAY CLASS) Week Twelve: (Nov 28): Order of operations Week Thirteen: (Dec 5): Roman numerals/fractions Week Fourteen (Dec 12): Equivalent fractions (basic)/comparing fractions Week Fifteen: (Dec 19): Adding/subtracting fractions Week sixteen:(Dec): Simplifying fractions Week Seventeen: (Jan): Equivalent fractions with missing numerators & mixed numbers intro Week eighteen: (Jan): Improper fractions Week nineteen: (Jan): Fractions and decimals Week twenty: (Jan): Add & subtract decimals Week twenty-one: (Jan): Multiply decimals/divide decimals Week Twenty-two: (Feb 13): Measurement: length Week Twenty-three: (Feb 21): Measurement: weight Week Twenty-Four: (Feb 28): Measurement: capacity and temperature Week Twenty-Five: (Mar 6): Money counting/making change (x2) Week Twenty-six: (Mar 13): Time: calendar, telling, elapsed/ converting time Week Twenty-Seven: (Mar 21): Geometry: basic properties/Lines and angles Week Twenty-Eight: (Mar 28): Perimeter and area Week Twenty-Nine: (Apr 3): Data and graphing Week Thirty: (Apr 10): Multiplication column style (May 1/) Week Thirty-one: (April 17): Division-long (May 8/10) Week Thirty-Two: (May 15/17): Fractions: simplify review Week Thirty-Three: (May 22/24): Improper fractions review Week Thirty-Four: (May 29/31): Add/Subtract fractions, then simplify Students will spend time in class discussing what they know about the given topic.
