Lesson 1
Place Value and Times 1s
We will explore the ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands places in numbers as well as introduce the Times 1s set of multiplication facts.
Lesson 2
Place Value Forms
We will learn expanded form, standard form, and word form of numbers and explore place value as it relates to money. We will learn about the number models for Times 1s.
Lesson 3
Place Value Fun
We will play games with place value and learn about writing checks.
Lesson 4
Place Value Quiz
We will take a quiz about place value and assess mastery of the Times 1s set of facts.
 Week 2
Lesson 5
Comparing Numbers and Times 2s
We will read "Atticus, the Number Eating Alligator" and review about <, >, and = in single and double digit numbers and how this principle applies to larger numbers as well. We will also explore number models for Times 2s.
Lesson 6
Comparing Numbers and Times 2s
We will practice with comparing numbers in multiple ways and continue practicing the Times 2s math facts.
Lesson 7
Comparing Numbers is Fun!
We will play games involving the comparison of numbers up to three digits as well as the Times 2s math facts.
Lesson 8
Comparing Numbers Quiz
We will take a quiz about comparing numbers and assess mastery of the Times 2s set of facts.
 Week 3
Lesson 9
Rounding to the Nearest Ten and Times 3s
We will read "Joey and the Snow Troll" to learn about rounding numbers to the nearest ten. We will also introduce the Times 3s math facts.
Lesson 10
Rounding to the Nearest Hundred and Times 3s
We will continue with "Joey and the Snow Troll" to see how to round numbers to the nearest hundred. We will also learn about the number models for the Times 3s.
Lesson 11
What is Estimating?
We will learn what makes for a reasonable estimate of objects and practice the Times 3s set of facts.
Lesson 12
Rounding and Estimating Quiz
We will take a quiz about rounding and estimating and assess mastery of the Times 3s set of facts.
 Week 4
Lesson 13
Adding and Subtracting Two-Digit Numbers Without Regrouping
We will learn about adding and subtracting two-digit numbers without regrouping. We will review Times 1s-Times 3s multiplication facts.
Lesson 14
Adding and Subtracting Two-Digit Numbers With Regrouping
We will learn about subtracting two-digit numbers with regrouping. We will review Times 1s-Times 3s multiplication facts.
Lesson 15
Adding and Subtracting Three-Digit Numbers
We will review adding and subtracting two-digit numbers both with and without regrouping. We will review Times 1s-Times 3s multiplication facts.
Lesson 16
Addition and Subtraction Quiz
We will take a quiz about adding and subtracting two-digit numbers with and without regrouping and do make up assessments of Times 1s-Times 3s as needed.

Adding Three Digit Numbers Without Regrouping and Times 4s
We will learn about adding three-digit numbers without regrouping. We will introduce the Times 4s multiplication facts.

Adding Three Digit Numbers With Regrouping
We will learn about adding three-digit numbers with regrouping. We will practice with the Times 4s multiplication facts.
Lesson 19
Missing Addends
We will learn about finding missing addends as well as explore real-life applications of adding three-digit numbers.

We will take a quiz about adding three-digit numbers as well as assess mastery of Times 4s math facts.

We will learn about subtracting three-digit numbers without regrouping. We will introduce the Times 5s multiplication facts.

We will learn about subtracting three-digit numbers with regrouping. We will practice with the Times 5s multiplication facts.

We will have some fun and explore real-life applications with adding three numbers. We will also practice the Times 6s facts.

Math Facts Review
We will review multiplication facts from Times 1s - Times 6s using a variety games and approaches.

Adding Three Numbers Quiz
We will take a quiz about adding three numbers as well as assess mastery of Times 6s math facts.

Adding Four-Digit Numbers
We will explore strategies for adding four-digit numbers with and without regrouping

Subtracting Four-Digit Numbers
We will explore strategies for subtracting four-digit numbers with and without regrouping.
Lesson 31
Watch the Sign!
We will practice adding and subtracting four-digit numbers in a mixed operations setting where we will focus on watching the sign to make sure the correct operation is performed.

Adding and Subtracting 4-Digit Numbers Quiz
We will take a quiz about adding and subtracting four-digit numbers as well as take care of any make-up quizzes on Times 1s-Times 6s multiplication facts.
  • Students will be able to: 1. Identify, articulate, and write numbers using place value, standard form, expanded form, and word form.
  • 2. Compare two- and three-digit numbers using <, >, and =.
  • 3. Add and subtract two-, three-, and four-digit numbers with and without regrouping.
  • 4. Add three or more numbers using a variety of strategies.
  • 5. Recite multiplication facts from Times 1s - Times 6s from memory.
I am a licensed and experienced elementary teacher with a masters' degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  I have taught third grade math and my learners experienced great success while having loads of fun!  I integrate stories, games, and hands-on practice to ensure each learner's needs are met. On occasion, we may use whiteboard.fi, a division of the Kahoot company, to allow for in-class independent practice of skills.  Whiteboard.fi allows each student to have their own online whiteboard that is not visible to other students, but allows me to see all student boards at once.  No account is required and no student information is collected.  I provide a link to whiteboard.fi and the students simply click on it and type in their first name or pseudonym to allow me to know which board belongs to who, but no information is stored at the whiteboard.fi website.  A parental permission form is attached in the welcome message.
