Curso de preparación para el examen de comprensión lectora de tercer y cuarto grado

This reading comprehension class will help students learn key strategies for test taking that is helpful on both assessments and standardized testing. The student will also learn reading comprehension skills to help enhance their understanding of reading. The course goes over identifying main ideas, making inferences, and tackling tricky test questions with confidence. Lessons are designed to be engaging and age-appropriate, using games and real-world reading passages to keep learners motivated and involved. With a warm, encouraging teaching style, I focus on building critical thinking skills while making reading fun and meaningful for every student.  

Each class will look something like this:
-Objectives-The objective is introduced for the class and how the passage will fit.
-Reading: The teacher will read aloud the passage in order to model for fluency and thinking strategies as well as test taking strategies. 
-Questions- There will be questions that model standardized testing formats following each passage. The teacher will model working through each question to model test taking strategies, finding important words, reading each question, etc. This allows the student to build confidence over time working through the questions together with the video. 
-The student will be given a practice passage to use along with questions to practice the test taking strategy each week. 

Passages and questions will be posted in the classroom for each lesson. One passage is the one modeled by the teacher and the second passage is for the student to use to review and practice the test taking strategy taught along with the comprehension skill.
