In this fast paced and fun class, students will play weekly games that get them thinking while also socializing with peers in their age range. The students will work independently but will share and discuss their answers with the other students. This class is meant as a fun and interactive social time with some learning and thinking thrown in as well. Great for students looking for a social outlet or way to meet other kids their age. The teacher will lead the game but students will set the pace. The class will be student led, allowing more time for explanations and discussion as needed. Each week stands alone so students are welcome to join in whenever! Week of June 23rd - June 29th: What's Missing? Supplies: None Week of June 30th - July 6th: Drawing on your Head Supplies: - Dry erase board with markers OR - clipboard/book with paper and markers Week of July 7th - July 13th: Color Hunt Supplies: Various household items of different colors in nearby area Week of July 14th - July 20th: Matching Game Supplies: None Week of July 21st - July 27th: Hide and Seek Supplies: None Week of July 28th - August 3rd: Fortunately, Unfortunately Supplies:None Week of August 4th - August 10th: Draw Something Supplies: Paper and markers Week of August 11th - August 17th: Scavenger Hunt Supplies: Various household items nearby Week of August 18th - August 24th: Guessing Games Supplies: None (students may come up with their own guessing clues before class if they would like) Week of August 25th - September 7th: Categories Supplies: None *No class August 29th - September 4th* Week of September 8th - September 14th: Mystery Box Supplies: 3 items in a box or bag, students will give clues for their friends to guess what they brought Week of September 15th - September 21st: Draw a Scene Supplies: Paper, Markers or Dry Erase Board and Markers Week of September 22nd - September 28th: Design a Superhero Supplies: PDF, markers Week of September 29th - October 5th: If, What? Hello to Everyone! My name is Miss Meghan and I can’t wait to meet your child. I enjoy teaching a variety of classes for preschool and early elementary ages.
I hold a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. At the beginning of my career, I worked extensively with children with autism in home settings designing programs to help students access the world around them in an empowering way. After my oldest daughter was born, I became a licensed childcare provider creating a home away from home for many children to grow and learn. When my youngest daughter was born, I decided it was time to explore other options and that is how I landed at Outschool. I am so grateful for this opportunity and love meeting new learners from all over the world.
I have a passion for instilling a love of learning in young children through exposure, messy play, and fun! I strongly believe that letting children delve into learning at their own level and allowing for different types of learning styles sets children up for a life long learning journey.
In addition to teaching on Outschool, I also homeschool my two daughters who are my pride and joy. I feel so grateful to have a career that I love that also affords me the opportunity to spend time with my own children as well. In my free time, I enjoy art, brainstorming new lesson ideas, cross stitch, and reading!
