Learners will be engaged in a dynamic and interactive class that uses slides, lecture, exercises, conversation, and project creation. Learners will discover how the voice functions from an anatomical perspective in regard to singing and speaking. Learners will build a movable paper model of the human larynx. (Please bring the necessary materials to the class, found in the Learners Supply List.) No previous knowledge of vocal function is necessary. Learners will sing short vocal exercises to help reinforce and demonstrate vocal function (this can be done with the microphone off).

This class will cover human anatomy, but will not cover any anatomy not directly involved in speaking and singing.
