Welcome to your course on the Russian Revolution! In this four-part course, students will learn about the events that led to Russia becoming the Soviet Union through two revolutions. From the fall of the royal family to the rise of Vladimir Lenin, this course will dive into the drama that unfolded in Russia which would transform the country. These events shook the foundations of Russia and this class will look at the causes that led to these events unfolding. This will include discussing who the royal family was, the role that they played in the history of Russia and the end of the Russian monarchy. This class is designed for students who want to have a learning space that is engaging and a place to ask questions. Students do not need to have prior knowledge as these classes will provide students with background information to allow them to engage, participate, and understand the history of this time. Students with more knowledge on these topics are also welcome to join this class, share what they know, and also learn some new information. Through the four weeks, I will be using slideshow presentations to teach the students about the key events, people, and policies that occurred during this time. There will also be images, videos, discussion questions, and games of Kahoot to engage students and help solidify their knowledge of what they have learned. See the Syllabus tab for a week-by-week breakdown of some of the topics we will be covering. Please do not hesitate to reach out and ask any questions regarding the course.
